Well, I figured Desmond Humboldt would stand out like a sore thumb (or a giant Anzique madman) in China, so here's the Bischof for Jade Throne (note: there's some nasty bits):

Little George was only six when his father told him his true name, Jorg, and of the great mission they were on for the Fatherland. George didn't understand very well, but it sounded like great fun. Not long after, the family moved to China, where Father pursued business interests for his British employers by day, and took pictures of certain files and buildings by night. When the Japanese troops suddenly invaded the city, Father told the family not to worry, as they were British civilians. But Father caught a stray bullet in the head--pop!--and the Japanese lieutenant was so worried about what his superiors would do to him for this mistake that he told his men to release their tensions on the witnesses, George's mother and sister. Mum and Sis took a long while to die, while George watched from hiding, nursing his first erection.

George wandered through the devastated city, visions of his family clouding his eyes. He met up with an older Chinese boy, who was similarly in shock. But Fat took care of George, and later, when Fat became a procurer of "patients" for the Japanese doctors, Fat and George became a team, and the kindly doctors let them watch the vivisections and other experiments on the patients they brought in, charmed by the cute, mismatched pair. George was fascinated, and he and Fat vowed to become doctors when they grew up.

Eventually, George made it back to England, and after the War he was tracked down by a former German officer who had known his father. They talked long into the night, and the officer left very impressed with the young boy. After George was older and had entered medical school in Munich, he met the officer again, and learned of the Karotechia. George joined with no hesitation.

In the meantime, George/Jorg had been nursing his dreams along, making them more and more real, both in the real world--through the torture of small animals and one younger child whom he had found lost in the woods--and in his own head, through his vivid powers of imagination. Eventually, he achieved a simultaneous breakthrough in both: after torturing a young male prostitute to death in Frankfurt, he fell asleep in the remains and broke through into the Dreamlands. There he discovered a new world to reshape to his desires.

Through his Karotechia contacts and the dark friends he made in the Dreamlands, he learned the secrets of magic and new ways to inflict pain. He earned his MD and entered practice in Hong Kong, at that time part of the UK, and found his old friend Fat, who was now a doctor, too. Fat introduced George to many other doctors just like them, and George knew that he had once again found a family.

Dr. Angle/Engle is now one of Bitterich's 12 Bischofe. Angle is a loyal servant, to a point, but he doesn't really care much about the Reich or Bitterich beyond what they can do for him. If it weren't for Der Fu:hrer, Angle would probably attempt a coup. It is possible that Angle may be recruited by one of the other members of the Triumverate in a plot against Bitterich. Of course his attitude is one of unswerving loyalty.

Through Fat, Angle has entered into a cult of Carcosa, one which uses torture as a means to enter into contact with the realm of Carcosa and approach the King in Yellow. Fat is the only person in the world that Angle can really call a friend--they share all their thoughts and dreams, and they journey through the Dreamlands together, choosing people to torture and creating "works of art" together. Angle mouths the Aryan Superiority line, and he even believes it in a way, but he doesn't really care about it, as he sees all humans as utterly corrupt and useless anyway. He does get more of a kick out of torturing the "lesser races," though, but mainly because it lets him play out his Nazi mask to the hilt. He finds it fun.

Angle is a rather polished-looking, handsome Englishman. He can be very jocular and friendly, but if he gets a chance, he'll have you strapped down and your clothes sliced off in no time. He does not rape his victims--that would be beneath him--but what he does do is so horrible and varied that rape is the least of your worries. But the first torture-to-death session (which can take several days if he has the time and you prove interesting) is just an audition. If you prove particularly amusing, he'll Resurrect you and do it again, and again, and again.
