Subject: DG: Shocking players with nazi tie-ins

The need to shock players with non-aryans with nazi/Karotechia connections have been expressed on this list. While I personally feel that the whole DG background contains plenty of shock value without resorting to this tactic, I have a few suggestions on this theme. Your mileage may vary.

A bischofe consumes the likeness of the leader of a black (or hispanic) gang. Then he twists the gang members, using them as pawns for his own nefarious purposes. A group of DG agents catch on after a few human sacrifices have been performed. When they finally track down the gang leaders apartment (he has of course slipped away in another form), they find nazi paraphernalia, occult papers, and a nice tie-in to a neo-nazi organization (the next layer in the onion).

This will ensure that the players:
  1. Are shocked.
  2. Draw wild conclusions about non-aryan nazi gangs.
  3. Are wrong.

A variation on the above theme:

A group of DG agents are tracking a bischofe to determine what he's up to. They know about his nazi standing and perhaps even that he is Karotechia. They witness him entering somewhere, and coming out as a black man (having consumed a likeness) and should be encouraged to draw the opposite conclusion from the truth - that he just switched to his *real* form. See above for consequences.

Just some thoughts on how to incorporate the shock value without spoiling the fun of stomping nazi butt.

Thanks for your time,

Jesper

Another option would be for the bischofe to drive his ethnic gang to do deeds that would encourage racism against that group:

Of course, this could be something your DG team discovers while already investigating the guy -- or there could be some sort of mystic angle to their white-men-dressed-as-Indians-pouring-tea-in-the-harbour gig.

Imagine playing a campaign where the players think they've discovered a real global/Israeli conspiracy, only find that magical neo-nazis are behind the whole thing . . .

A lot of these are hot-button topics, but, why should we be afraid to push hot-buttons in DG?
