THE BLOOD FLAG - Die Blutmarkierungsfahne

(Literally; "the blood marking sign")

The blood flag is one of a handful of magickal artifacts that the current Karotechia possesses, though they have lost the Spear of Longinus, fragments of the one, true cross, the mummified bodies of Germans most famous sons, they still have good access to magicks.

The Flag is one of these.

It is a large standard, bearing the new flag of the Karotechia; a reversed swastika surrounded by a hunting horror, as depicted on the cover of Mein Triumph, the shaft of the standard is reinforced wood, with a spike a the base for digging into the ground, and a skull at the top. The Flag is kept fully spread by gold braid.

It is said amongst the Ritter that Dr Bitterich asked one hundred of their first recruits to kill themselves for the blood flag, and that they did so willingly, swearing their allegiance to their newly returned Fuhrer, and birthing the Blood Flag with their dying blood. It is more likely that he compelled a dozen or so to slit their own wrists, one after the other over a period of a week or two.

No matter.

The flag has been imbued with the fury, hatred and loyalty of many Nazi souls, and it bears their malice. It is the battle standard of the Ritter, they train under it, they sweat and bleed under it, one day, they hope to march over the skulls of the mud-people, under it.

The Flag is kept in Le Estancia all the time, hanging over the central staircase, welcoming food. It is taken out only for the large-scale swearing-in of new Karotechia Ritter, or when one of the Die Triumvirate wishes to speak to his assembled minions.

It might just be subtle symbolism. The Karotechia are the guys *behind* the Blood Flag (what the Kraut for that?) Maybe this has something to do with the Thulegesellshaft's iconography.
