Chapter 12 - List Discussion
MIB-Intro
In Peru, the Necronomicon is stolen by the Sendero Luminoso.

For the EH Gurus...
And since I'm yet Unassigned - please hand over the Peru Chapter. I
think I can work in the Foreign Prime Minister (Ties to the Japan
Chapter, perhaps?) and the similarities between
the Nazca Plains and the Plains of Leng.
Daniel Harms
I forget who was doing the Peru chapter of EH, but here's a few Mythos
things to check out.
1. In the Keeper's Compendium (to be rereleased by Chaosium soon, AFAIK),
in the section on the Pnakotic Manuscripts, a few Pnakotic hieroglyphs are
mentioned as being present on the plains of Nazca.
2. One of Lumley's stories mentioned an abandoned (IIRC) Deep One city
within Lake Titicaca called Yatta-Uc.
3. Check out "The Gorge Beyond Salpunco" in TRAIL OF CTHULHU. Sure, it's
Derleth and as such kind of corny, but there's some neat Cthulhu/Inca
parallels there.

Is there any room for cameos from the Peruvian scenarios "The Pits of Bendal-
Dolum" and "The Temple of the Moon," from Chaosium's "Terror From The Stars"?
There's some sweeet Shub-fu and Fungi-fu there. Make it an OG fest: Nazca
lines as an ancient Fungal device for calling up Daoloth/Yog/Shub, depending
on the alignment of the stars and what-not. Throw in possible exposure to the
Grey/Mi-Go thing, maybe; maybe the Nazca lines show a pattern reminiscent of
sigils examined by Majestic's PLUTO and REDLIGHT projects.
Looking good.

Just nitpicking, but IIRC, TPoBD was set in Belize. TTotM was Peruvian,
though. Also, maybe a cameo by Viracocha (Cthulhu according to Comte
d'Erlette)?

Just checked with the wife--she sez Yukio sounds strange for a woman's name,
suggests Yukiyo or Yukiko. The former presents almost no change in
pronunciation. (The reason I thought to check was 'cause I knew Yukio is a
man's name through Yukio Mishima, the writer--but it sounded like a possible
woman's name to me, too. Some Japanese names are dual-gender, but usually
it's the same beginning with a different ending, just like most Euro-Amercan
names.)
Ooh, just checked with her on meaning! Kewl.
[Begin Michael Layne mode ;-) ]
"Yuki" means snow (I'm leaving out other, less common kanji that can be
used--this could get seriously detailed otherwise) in both names. The "-ko"
is a very common name-ending for women; it can mean "child" or "small,"
depending on the kanji. (Both names of the Mythos lady in "Yuki Onna" meant
"Snow Child"--a surprisingly common name, in both versions.)
More interesting is Yukiyo. The most common kanji for "-yo" means "age" or
"period," as in The Iron Age, or The Tokugawa Period. Thus, the name could
mean "Age of Snow"-- something slightly similar to Fimbulwinter. Hmmmm.

Is Uncle Joe displaying some kinda "thing" for Asian women? :-0
SuperDave
has a "thing" for just one Asian woman. (YEEEEE-HAAAAWWWW!)

That'd work great. Is the Marshal in the Archive, or can you post him to me
privately? I'd also love to hear about his previous adventure, because I'm
sure I could spin it into the Chapter without too many problems.

Well, I'll be inserting a smattering of the Antarctic in my EH chapter
(It's Peru! It's The Ross Ice Shelf! Flying Nazis! Shining Path Lemming
Dying Like Cattle! Rifts to Other Dimensions! Deep Ones!! Reserve your

Windmill Dunk!!!
ObEH, mainly for MiB:
Just some little information for chapter 12, on the coordinates for
La Estancia. A brazilian friend of mine told me once that in the south
eastern part of the country, "ex-Germans" wanted to have a state on
their own, inside Brazil. I don't want to say that they're all neonazis
(or at all), but the main target for ODESSA was Latin America, and
normally, when people live in secluded areas or "surrounded" by other
cultures they either assimilate (no Star Trek here) or their ideologies
get to be more extreme, so maybe that gives you a few ideas to flesh out
the chapter.
MiB: Do you have an outline of chapter 12 yet? I'm interested
because, I'd like to know how much your viewpoint of the Triumvirate has
an influence on the chapter. And whether it's the only chapter that's
influenced by it.
