Introduction and Background
This plotline assumes that LiBretto is in full-swing by now, and that DG
has some kind of official 'pull' with it through Interpol. Galt has,
once again, been identified whilst entering the country. The
Bundeskriminalamt (The BKA or Federal criminal Office), however, have
been able to stick to him like glue since, and have him under
observation as he stays at the private retreat of wealthy
industrialist Jorg Klieber in the East German state of Saxony-Anhalt.
Klieber has strong right wing connections, is a leading figure in the
Deutsche Volksunion (German People's Union or DVU), and bankrolls many
of the Aryan Bruder's (- a paramilitary group whose objective is to
'protect German citizens') meetings and exercises (all of which are
small scale, clandestine affairs in secluded surroundings, as the group
is under investigation by the Verfassungsschultz (the federal agency for
the protection of the constitution). Kleiber, of course is a Ritter -
recruited by the Karotechia through his political affiliations nearly
fifteen years ago.
Galt is here because Klieber believes he has located a copy of De
Vermiis Mysteriis. He requested the assistance of a Bischoffe, fearing
the book could be magically protected in some way. Galt accompanied the
Bischoffe to co-ordinate the effort; he has been strangely troubled of
late by dreams of his own death - and feels more comfortable on the soil
of his homeland. The BKA are keeping round the clock surveillance on
Klieber's residence, and they have the resources to track Galt if he
decides to leave. Galt knows this, and so is reluctantly putting his
faith in the local Bauer and Klieber to locate De Vermiis Mysteriis. The
Bischoffe however, can easily evade the BKA's surveillance, using a form
he has acquired through the consume likeness spell. Unbeknownst to the
Karotechia however, Die Lebenstentoten - last seen in France, have
tracked Galt here. Stefan Alzis is also in town - and he wants to do a
deal with them.
Delta Green meanwhile, have two missions as far as their presence in
Germany is concerned - locate and procure whatever occult tome Galt is
chasing before the Karotechia, and also to try and gather information on
Operation: LUNACY. As a consequence, the DG group will split into two
teams upon arrival in Germany. If we're talking just three DG agents,
then two go to Dresden, whilst one goes to Naudabaum, accompanied by two
NPC's (maybe boffiny types or a psychic - both attached to the BKA and
LiBretto) The fortunes of the first team are addressed in Part one, the
second, Part two, before coming together for the finale in Part three.
