Fychan Ly Vacier - Archivist Bard
It seemed unlikely that Fychan or the Grinch, was related to his twin siblings
Beren and catrina, but he is. He was always the most sickly of the children, and
suffered many childhood illnesses.
In childhood he wa a mischievous child with a quicker mind than the others, and
often got them into trouble, particularly Beren, whom he delighted in leading
astray. Despite that he is extremely close to his older brother.
The Grynch is a bard, a collector of tales and storys, who then turns them round
and passes them on. He is not a bad musician, quite the opposite, his harp
skills are excelllent, but it is not his medium of choice. The spoken word is.
It has been said of him that he could charm the hind legs off a donkey.
He also has excellent magic skills, and the abilities of an expert burglar. Plus
of course the morales of a tom-cat. The Grinch often ends up as the repository
for magic and money within the foundlings, because the others have less use
for it, and beacuse he normally has the best chance of comprehending it.
Grinch escaped the slaughter at Shedu's Hall, by running quickly, and then
hiding with the other escapee's form Granite Mountain in a basement cellar. His
Wand of Wonder did him sterling service in forcing back the less intelligent of
Gallowfire's get.
His guilt in surviving the massacre drives him onwards to avenge his sister and
friend.
The Grinch probably came out the character generation process with the most bonuses, however he is the least combat capable character; he wears no armour, has low hit points and a to-hit penalty.
The Grinch has a full set of theives abilities, although he progresses slower than an ordinary thief. He has the spell-casting abilities of a bard 1 level higher, and he still retains his Legend Lore ability (Which I enjoy using).
Borg was a normal war-dog who got lucky on a few rolls, and pogressed to being hell on wheels! Literally: Borg took a bad critical and lost one of his hind legs. The timely intervention of a carpenter led to him sqeaking into combat on a small wheel! The Grinch never remembered to oil him properly.
Lightning is the Grinch's travelling companion, and now his familiar, using the Familiar Enhancer spells, he has been improved beyond the normal run of the mill dog.
Lightning carries half of Grinch's gear and his spellbooks, because the grinch is too feeble to carry much. Needless to say this makes him a favoured target for fireballs and the like.
